In less than 40 years, the Shepherd School of Music has established itself within the top echelon of music institutions across the country.  With world-class faculty and exceptionally talented students, the music made here resonates beyond the concert halls of Rice University.  Our reach extends to all corners of the globe, as Shepherd students and alumni can be found across the world performing, teaching, and inspiring future generations of musicians, some of whom may return to Rice as Owls themselves someday.  As we observe Rice’s centennial in 2012, the Shepherd School celebrates the achievements of its students and alumni, providing an “Owl’s eye view” of the mark they are making on the world beyond our hedges.
