Online Preliminary Submission by December 1, 2017

The green icon labeled "Preliminary Dropbox" at the bottom of this page will lead you to the Rice University portal for Acceptd, an online repository for preliminary audition materials. There is a $24 fee to use this service.

Preliminary submission is by video.

When recording the preliminary submission, please record with your full body and instrument in the frame. Please include a movement from a concerto and two contrasting movements of Bach.

If you have not heard from us by January 5, 2018, please email us.

Required graduate live audition repertoire

The repertoire for the audition must include one work from each of the following groups:

  • Full Bach suite of the applicant's choice
  • Major concerto
  • Standard excerpts: Mozart Symphony No. 35 (first and fourth movements); Beethoven Symphony No. 5 (third movement); Brahms Symphony No. 2 (first and fourth movements); Strauss Ein Heldenleben #9, #40, the Battle Scene complete

Live auditions will be held on February 12 or 13, 2018.
