Once it has been received, your audition will be scheduled. Please note that there may be times in the season when scheduling is backlogged. If you have not heard from us by Jan. 5, 2018, please email us.

Prospective graduate students wishing to audition should contact David Kirk personally to discuss their application.

Required graduate live audition repertoire

  • All major/ minor scales and arpeggios in two octaves (one chromatic scale in three octaves)
  • A solo piece or concerto movement of your choice
  • Two contrasting (lyrical/technical) ├ętudes
  • Standard orchestral excerpts
  • Expect sight-reading

If preferred, solo works may be performed on Bass Tuba, but graduate applicants should perform the majority (or all) of their audition on Contrabass Tuba. It is not necessary to transport two instuments to your audiiton.
