PASTRAGUS HEAD OF JURY FOR FIRELANDS COMPETITION

Isadora Pastragus, winner of the 2002 Firelands Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition was the head of the jury this years 2005 competition. The winners chosen in the two days of performances (Sunday, January 16 and Monday, January 17) competing to perform on one of four spots with the Firelands Symphony Orchestra on April 2-3, 2005 in Sandusky, Ohio near Cleveland.

After winning the 2002 FSO competition, Pastragus played the Piano Concerto in a minor of Robert Schumann on February 9th and 10th, 2003.

Pastragus has a future engagement scheduled with the Firelands Symphony Orchestra in October 2005 to perform a series of concerts featuring well known works for piano and orchestra to be recorded for future release conducted by J. Santos Perez. During that time, Pastragus will give master classes to high school and collegiate-level pianists to help attract more artists to participate in the FSO Young Artist Competition.

Future engagements for pianist Isadora Pastragus include concerts in Iasi, Romania; Bucharest Romania; Brussels Belgium with Le Grand Orchestra d'Harmonie des Guide; and with the National Symphony Orchestra of Moldavia, Kishinev.

Pastragus is currently a master's student studying piano with Robert Roux at the Shepherd School of Music.
