BENJAMIN JABER, HORN
Senior Student
My
favorite thing about the Shepherd School is the love of music
that one can see and experience here every day in various guises.
You can't help but be inspired and empowered by it.
Professor William ver Meulen is the main reason I came to study
here. I found my own playing and attitude towards learning and
making music would fit best in the horn studio with Mr. ver
Meulen. It is the greatest feeling in the world being a part
of such an amazing family as my Rice Horn Crew, one that will
be part of me for the rest of my days.
Having a career in music is no easy task. One must overcome
the difficulties through intense training, striving to only
allow the best of one's ability to be the standard one repeatedly
presents. The Shepherd School is the place to attain that standard.
The rigorous studies I have undertaken with my teacher, in combination
with many different performance opportunities makes this an
incredible place. The orchestra here is the best to be found
anywhere. I believe anyone who comes to visit will be "bitten
by the bug", and realize that this really is the place
to be.
