Financial assistance may be in the form of need-based funds awarded through the Rice University Office of Financial Aid, a merit scholarship from The Shepherd School of Music, or a combination of the two.
Rice University meets 100% of a student’s demonstrated need, and for students in the freshman class entering in Fall 2012 whose total family income is less than $80,000, need-based assistance will contain no loans.
In addition to Rice University’s generous and responsive financial aid program, The Shepherd School of Music awards competitive merit-based scholarships to its students to recognize exceptional musical accomplishment and potential.
Music students who wish to be considered for a merit award are required to apply for need-based assistance and complete the Shepherd School Financial Assistance Application.
