Adamo’s first opera, “Little Women” was premiered by Houston Grand Opera in 1998 and was an immediate success. The story is based on Louisa May Alcott’s novel about four sisters growing up in New England after the Civil War. Jo, the second of four sisters who loves her family life and doesn’t want anything to change, comes to realize that life progresses with its joys, conflicts, tragedies and resolutions.

The production will be conducted by David Effron, guest music director, and staged by Peter Webster, stage director. The opera will be sung in English with English surtitles.
