The Shepherd School Chamber Orchestra kicks off the 26/27 season with rhythm, poetry, and power. Milhaud’s Le Bœuf sur le toit is a lively, surrealist piece packed with infectious Brazilian dance rhythms. Professor of Oboe Erin Hannigan is the soloist in a brand-new work, written for her by American composer Jeremy Gill and inspired by the poetry of Emily Dickinson. The night ends with the most famous four notes in history: Beethoven’s unforgettable Fifth Symphony.
