Randolph Bowman studied with James Pappoutsakis and Julius Baker. In 1978 he was a Leonard Bernstein Fellow at Berkshire Music Center at Tanglewood. He has been the principal flute for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra since 1990. Formerly he was the principal flute of the American Symphony Orchestra at Bard College, Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and Portland Symphony Orchestra. His teaching experience includes the New England Conservatory of Music, Boston Conservatory of Music, Harvard University, Brandeis University and MIT. He has recorded for CRI, Nonesuch, Telarc and Gunmar labels.
