Biography
A Houston native dedicated to supporting the next generation of musicians, Blair McLaughlin serves as the Music Office and Student Processes Assistant at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. Bringing over 15 years of experience in educational administration and the arts, Blair coordinates student workflows and supports daily operations for Shepherd’s community of students, faculty, staff, and visiting guest artists, ensuring a welcoming and collaborative environment for all.
In addition to her work at Rice, Blair is an active soprano in the local arts community, performing with the award-winning Houston Grand Opera Chorus and appearing regularly as a soloist with area choirs and chamber ensembles. Outside of her professional and musical endeavors, she enjoys exploring Houston’s vibrant food and wine scene, attending local museums and live music concerts, practicing yoga, gardening, and occasionally competing as a powerlifter.
