Biography
Pianist Eliza Ching is an Artist Collaborator at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. In this role she has the pleasure of working closely with the students of James Dunham, Erin Hannigan, Benjamin Kamins, Valentin Radutiu and Brinton Averil Smith.
During the summers she is the Assistant and Coach for the Collaborative Piano Program at the Aspen Music Festival and School. Prior to her appointment at Rice in 2010, Ms. Ching has served as staff collaborative pianist at the University of Texas at Austin, the North Carolina School of the Arts and Heifetz Institute.
Notably, Ms. Ching won the Best Collaborative Pianist Prize at the Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition (Canada) in 2012. When not busy with musical endeavors, Ms. Ching can be found attending to the whims of her two Australian Shepherds, Scout and Atticus.
