Biography
Combining a background in stage management with a talent for operations, Jessie Mullins serves as Director of Operations for Opera at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music. She oversees the Opera Department's budget, scheduling, and daily operations, partnering with faculty, students, guest artists, and production teams to support the planning and execution of performances. Since joining the Shepherd School, Jessie has played a key role in the school-wide implementation of the ASIMUT scheduling platform, helping departments transition to a centralized scheduling system, and has supported the Opera Department's operational transition following its move into its new performance venue by developing workflows and processes that helped the department adapt to its new home.
Before joining Rice, Jessie spent nine seasons with Houston Grand Opera, gaining extensive experience in stage management and opera production while collaborating with internationally acclaimed artists and creative teams. Outside of work, Jessie enjoys attending sporting events with her husband and spending time with their pack of dogs.
