Biography
Audio-Visual Specialist J.J. Ramos handles all audio, video, and digital signage systems for the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, overseeing technical operations across Alice Pratt Brown Hall and Brockman Hall for Opera. Notably, he manages the school's livestreaming and recording capabilities, maintains comprehensive equipment inventories, and provides crucial production management and AV support for major ensemble events and rental clients.
Before coming to the Shepherd School, J.J. built extensive multimedia expertise as a K-12 technical support specialist and as a technical director for a large Houston-based church. Outside of Rice, he works as a freelance live sound audio engineer and is the owner and operator of Twenty12 Media LLC, a veteran-owned video production company specializing in sports cinematography.
Certified in Dante, Q-SYS, and Crestron systems, J.J. holds a Bachelor of Science in Audio Production from The Art Institute of Houston and previously studied Music Business at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
