Biography
Josephine “Josie” Mendez is a performing arts administrator and production manager with experience in concert operations, artist services, and music administration. As the Concert Hall Production Manager at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, she oversees the technical and production logistics for rehearsals, performances, guest artist engagements, special events, and rentals, serving as the primary stage manager for Stude Concert Hall. She coordinates with faculty, conductors, guest artists, students, and production staff while managing venue operations, student workers, and event execution.
Previously, Josie served as Program Manager at Florida International University, where she managed personnel and scheduling for more than 120 orchestra and ensemble performances annually, coordinated auditions and artist services, and supported touring engagements. She has also contributed to concert production and touring artist operations with Litus Music and Seraphic Fire and has collaborated on major symphonic crossover productions, including Yandel Sinfónico and Celia Sinfónica. Josie holds a Master of Music in Music Management & Production and a Bachelor of Music in Music Business from Florida International University.
