Biography
Driven by a passion for connecting audiences with extraordinary music, Katie Sejba is Senior Director of Marketing and Communications at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music. With nearly 15 years of experience with orchestras across North America, she brings a patron-focused, data-driven approach to audience development, storytelling, brand management, and patron experience. Since joining the Shepherd School in the Fall of 2022, she has led the launch of the school’s first-ever ticketing and CRM system, overseen annual season announcements and brochures, and spearheaded key initiatives for the school’s 50th anniversary, including its Community Day in Spring 2025, a commemorative magazine, and a celebration video.
Katie has held leadership roles at the Nashville, Toronto, Houston, and Rochester symphony orchestras and began her career at the Dallas Symphony. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, she holds two graduate degrees from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Music from Loyola University New Orleans. Outside of the office, she is a dedicated yogi and beach lover.
