Biography
Philippa (Pippa) Jarvis-Flores is the Assistant Director of Development at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, where she advances the school’s philanthropic priorities through strategic donor engagement, major gifts, endowed giving, annual philanthropy, and comprehensive stewardship initiatives. She partners with alumni, patrons, and institutional leadership to cultivate meaningful relationships that support scholarships, academic programs, artistic excellence, and the school’s long-term vision. Since joining the Shepherd School in 2014, Philippa has helped lead major fundraising and donor engagement initiatives, including the Brockman Hall for Opera campaign, the Shepherd Society membership program, and the school’s 50th Anniversary celebration.
She holds a Master of Music in Violin Performance from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, a Bachelor of Music from McGill University, and a Comprehensive Fund Development Certification from Rice University. Outside of her role at Rice, Philippa is the founder and owner of Sweet Harmony Cakes, a custom cake business specializing in bespoke creations for weddings and special events. In her free time, she enjoys road cycling, baking, and hiking.
