Damian Blättler

Damian Blättler is Associate Professor of Music Theory at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. He specializes in art music of the twentieth century, and his work on the music of Maurice Ravel, additive harmony, and Parisian modernist compositional practices has been published in Music Theory Spectrum, Music Analysis, Music Theory Online, and Theoria. At Rice, Professor Blättler teaches or has taught classes on analysis, Romantic music, Maurice Ravel, 18th-century counterpoint, music theories of the world, mathematical music theory, and theories of musical value, as well as the first class in the undergraduate theory sequence.
