Booking Policies
- Individual practice rooms in Alice Pratt Brown Hall (APBH) & Brockman Hall for Opera (BHO) are available first-come, first-served, no booking needed.
- Reservations for ensemble rooms in Alice Pratt Brown Hall (APBH) and Brockman Hall for Opera (BHO) are required, and students can reserve rooms under three categories:
- Ensemble Practice Provisional (one other person will need to be included in the reservation)
- Individual Practice Provisional
- Recording Provisional
- Students can reserve up to 4 hours in spaces up to 2 weeks in advance.
- Each student is given a “rolling quota” of 4 hours (you can see your balance on your agenda page of ASIMUT just below your name). The minute a reservation passes, the time is added back to your rolling quota.
- The minimum reservation time is 30 minutes, and the maximum is 2 hours (if you book the same room again, a 30-minute break is required between reservations).
- You must confirm your reservation while connected to campus Wi-Fi between 60 minutes before and up to 5 minutes after the start time. Failure to do so will cancel your reservation and allow others to book the room.
- Students can reserve large classroom spaces, but performance spaces (Duncan Recital Hall, Stude Concert Hall, Morrison Theater) can only be reserved through Alex Stutler (astutler@rice.edu)

Are reservations required for all rooms?
Reservations for rooms in Alice Pratt Brown Hall (APBH) and Brockman Hall for Opera (BHO) are required (with the exception of individual practice rooms, which are first-come, first-served), and students can reserve rooms under three categories:
- Ensemble Practice Provisional (one other person will need to be included in the reservation)

How far in advance can students book?
Students can reserve up to 4 hours in spaces up to 2 weeks in advance.
How long can I book a room for?

Am I required to book practice rooms on ASIMUT?
No. Individual practice rooms in APBH & BHO are available on a first-come, first-served basis; no booking on ASIMUT is needed.
Do I have to cancel my reservation if I can no longer attend?
Yes. If your plans change, you must cancel your reservation on ASIMUT—no exceptions.
Can I make last-minute reservations on the day of?
Yes. Last-minute reservations are available for large ensemble rooms and classrooms open in the next 4 hours. These last-minute reservations can be made in addition to your regular quota at no extra cost.
Why was my reservation changed?
The ASIMUT Administrators reserve the right to adjust/cancel reservations if needed. Every effort will be made to find an alternative space for your reservation.
