The Shepherd School of Music featured seven nights of virtual chamber music performances presented by Shepherd School students. These performances were streamed on the Shepherd School's YouTube channel. This semester, the Chamber Music Department in collaboration with the Shepherd School Chamber and Symphony Orchestras developed a robust program for smaller chamber ensembles while practicing all the proper safety protocols.
These performances were pre-recorded in the school's Edythe Bates Recital Hall and the new Lucian and Nancy Morrison Theater; a three-tiered, 600-seat, European-style theater located in Brockman Hall for Opera with an orchestra chamber for 70 musicians and the most advanced audio and video technology designed by theater planning and design consultants Fisher Dachs Associates. It features a state-of-the art, “pin-drop” acoustic experience created by Threshold Acoustics and theater technology capabilities including automated fly systems and digital scenery projection. Additionally, these performances include two performances of students studying remotely this semester in Spain and Taiwan.
