Open to all current Rice students, our lessons provide private, one-on-one instruction with a graduate student or faculty member for 50 minutes per week throughout the semester.
Students must register at the Shepherd School of Music before submitting a university registration form. Registration is limited and will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

APPLIED STUDIES IN JAZZ IMPROVISATION MUSI 345 | 2 credits
Private lessons on specific techniques in jazz improvisation. You must register at the Shepherd School of Music before submitting a university special registration form. Registration will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 8:30 AM.

RICE CHORALE MUSI 335 | 1 credit

CAMPANILE ORCHESTRA MUSI 334 | 1 credit

The Campanile Orchestra is a symphony orchestra made up of talented non-music majors and members of the greater Rice community who wish to continue their orchestral activities in an environment of artistic inspiration and camaraderie. Campanile Orchestra plays works expanding from the traditional repertoire, including pops and film music, and meets on Saturdays from 10:00 am-1:00 pm in Alice Pratt Brown Hall.
