The Bachelor of Music is a four-year degree. The curriculum emphasizes intensive work with world-class faculty through lessons, coachings, and research, and offers an array of performance opportunities in large ensembles, chamber groups, and solo settings.
Applicants must submit the following requirements by December 1 to be considered for undergraduate admission to the Shepherd School of Music:
1. an application to Rice University AND
2. a preliminary submission or audition profile form
Music applicants must select Music as the academic school on their Rice application to be considered for a live audition.
The preliminary submission includes a prescreening audition or requirement. Both the preliminary submission and audition profile form require completing and uploading the Shepherd School of Music Financial Assistance Application.
The Shepherd School of Music does not admit through Early Decision I or II or Questbridge.
